Introducing Illustrator Frames Brushes — an extensive collection of more than 200 brushes that feature all kinds of ornamental and decorative frames. These frames were created using samples from archival sources that have been meticulously transformed into seamless pattern brushes for Illustrator.

Sometimes, you find a nice frame for an image, except… the frame has the wrong aspect ratio, or maybe it’s oval and you need a square frame. Or it’s too low resolution for your project. This pack makes the process easier and saves you some time by letting you create your own custom frames in any aspect ratio, shape and dimensions, all in vector format — using Illustrator’s pattern brushes feature.

✦ Seamless: Apply these brushes to shapes of any dimensions and aspect ratios — all elements constituting the brushes have been carefully stitched together for seamless application.

✦ Complete brushes: These brushes contain a middle segment, both inner and outer corners, as well as start and end segments. This prevents weird-looking sections caused by missing segments.

✦ Highly detailed: The samples were vectorized to retain as many original details as possible.

✦ Customizable: Achieve different looks by modifying the color of the brushes and the stroke width, and combine several elements together to create more complex frames.

✦ Easy to use: Simply draw you shape (rectangle, square, line, circle, ellipse, pen tool path etc), and apply the brush of your choice by clicking on a brush swatch.

✦ Premade compositions: not sure where to start? I’ve prepared a few premade frames arrangements that you can use in your projects!

✦ Wide variety: I found a lot of cool specimens during my archeological dive into the archives, and it was difficult to select only a few. So I put many of them in this pack. Most of them originate from the 19th century, but there are a few older samples as well. Enjoy!
