Dignity™ Bariatric Padded Commode & Shower Chair – 600 lb Capacity, Extra-Wide 3-in-1 Hygiene Chair

The Dignity™ Bariatric Padded Commode & Shower Chair is designed to provide a wider, more stable seating solution for users who need additional support during bathing and toileting. With a 600 lb weight capacity, 22" width between armrests, and fully padded seating system, this commode chair delivers comfort and functionality across multiple daily routines.

At Independent Living Superstore, we prioritize products that combine strength, comfort, and usability. The Dignity™ chair is a strong choice for users who require bariatric support without sacrificing ease of use or everyday practicality.

Best For

  • Bariatric users needing higher weight capacity and wider seating
  • Shower, bedside, or over-toilet commode use
  • Caregiver-assisted hygiene routines
  • Users who prefer padded seating over hard plastic chairs
  • Homecare or facility environments requiring durable equipment

Real-World Use Scenario

The chair can be placed over a toilet, used bedside with the included pail, or positioned in the shower. Users benefit from a wider seating surface and stable armrests, while caregivers can assist with better access due to the open-front design.

Maneuverability / Placement

The splayed-leg design provides a stable footprint across bathroom floors, shower areas, and bedside setups. Adjustable legs allow the chair to be leveled for different surfaces, while non-slip rubber feet help maintain grip on wet tile.

Fit & Compatibility Guide

With an overall width of approximately 29" and 22" clearance between armrests, this chair is best suited for bathrooms that can accommodate a wider footprint. Confirm doorway width, toilet spacing, and shower clearance before purchase to ensure proper fit.

Support / Safety / Performance

Built with a medical-grade aluminum frame, the Dignity™ chair supports up to 600 lbs under normal use conditions. The rust-free construction is designed for long-term use in wet environments, while reinforced components provide dependable structural support.

Non-slip feet help reduce movement during transfers and seated use, supporting safer positioning during bathing and toileting routines.

Comfort / Usability

The Soft-Touch padded seat, backrest, and armrests provide a warm, comfortable surface that helps reduce slipping compared to traditional hard plastic designs. The closed-cell material resists water absorption and is easy to clean.

The open-front seat design allows improved access for hygiene tasks, helping both users and caregivers manage routines more efficiently.

Design & Convenience

The 3-in-1 design allows the chair to function as a shower chair, bedside commode, or over-toilet commode. An integrated toilet paper holder adds convenience for daily use, while tool-free assembly allows setup in under a minute.

Caregiver / Transfer Support

This chair is designed to support safer transfers by providing stable, weight-bearing armrests and a wide seating platform. The open-access design allows caregivers to assist more effectively while reducing strain during hygiene routines.

Very Helpful
This book applies to others also, not just law enforcement. There is a lot of information in the book that will help you with all your Spanish. Found it to be accurate with dealing with locals as many of the words are a little different than what you learn in Spanish 101(Spain Spanish). For law enforcement officials wanting to learn to communicate with latinos in america, this book will help you learn what you want to say. There are three CD's with the book. I would strongly suggest listening to the CD's over and over again.....it really will help you.

A must-read for anyone interested in communication studies, rhetoric, American public debates
Format: Paperback
In this seminal book, Fisher expounds his "narrative paradigm," a sweeping theory of human communication and more. Professor Emeritus at USC's Annenberg School of Communication, Fisher's discipline was rhetoric. But the book's subtitle -- "Toward a Philosophy of Reason, Value, and Action" -- isn't a stretch. Fisher's theory is a grand project extending its purview way beyond the communication department's door. At root is Fisher's rejection of what he calls the "rational world paradigm," which falsely separates logos from mythos, reason from imagination, fact from value. Doesn't work that way, Fisher says. No such thing as a value-free belief, assertion, or action. Instead, we evaluate according to a "logic of good reasons" -- reasons we value as good -- rooted in the narratives of our experience. An under-appreciated aspect of Fisher's work is the application of his theory to American politics. America's most enduring narrative is The American Dream. But that dream comprises two sub-narrative strands: the "materialistic myth" and the "moralistic myth." These two strands broadly represent conservative and progressive impulses respectively, but those threadbare categories don't do Fisher's explication justice. The two myths find their roots in the narratives of the earliest Americans, and have been battling it out ever since. It's a credible understanding of the history of American public moral debates.
