The Canon EOS RP redefines portable full-frame photography, delivering big-sensor quality in a remarkably compact and lightweight package. As Canon’s lightest and smallest full-frame EOS camera to date, the EOS RP makes handheld full-frame imaging approachable for travel, street photography, and everyday storytelling. Equipped with a 26.2‑megapixel CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s capable DIGIC 8 image processor, this camera excels in diverse lighting conditions—from sunlit streets to moody interiors—without sacrificing detail, color accuracy, or dynamic range. Its streamlined design, intuitive controls, and robust autofocus system empower photographers to capture crisp, vibrant images with ease, while its video capabilities invite creators to explore cinematic storytelling without the burden of a bulky rig.

  • Ultra-portable full-frame design: The EOS RP combines the benefits of a full-frame sensor with a compact body that travels effortlessly in a bag or on a day’s shoot. Its lightweight, balanced ergonomics suit handheld street photography, documentary work, and long shooting sessions, making it a compelling option for photographers who want serious image quality without carrying a heavy rig. The form factor also pairs beautifully with a wide range of RF lenses, enabling you to unlock full-frame potential in a portable package.
  • 26.2MP image quality for detail and dynamic range: A high-resolution 26.2‑megapixel CMOS sensor delivers sharp details, clean textures, and smooth tonal transitions. The camera’s sensor design supports broad dynamic range, vibrant color rendition, and effective cropping flexibility, so you can frame with confidence and print large or share crisp files online with minimal noise concerns in most shooting scenarios.
  • POWERFUL DIGIC 8 processing for speed and color: The DIGIC 8 image processor powers quick autofocus calculations, accurate color reproduction, and responsive performance across stills and video. It helps optimize sleep-free color science, improves noise handling at higher ISO levels, and supports reliable in‑camera processing that speeds up post-production workflows, so your creative ideas become finished results faster.
  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF for precise, reliable focus: Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides fast, smooth, and dependable autofocus across much of the frame. This system shines in portraits, moving subjects, and videos, with responsive tracking and Eye Detection that helps you lock onto your subject with confidence. Whether you’re capturing candid moments or shooting video with shallow depth of field, the EOS RP’s autofocus performance supports expressive storytelling.
  • Flexible shooting experience and RF lens compatibility: The EOS RP features a versatile control layout, a responsive touchscreen, and a view of Canon’s evolving RF lens ecosystem. Its design invites creativity—from low-angle to high-angle compositions—while staying approachable for new shooters. For those upgrading from older Canon bodies, the RF mount invites you to explore new optical designs while maintaining compatibility with EF lenses through adapters, expanding your creative options without compromising portability.

I love this book
Format: Paperback
I love this book. Some of the incidents took place in my home town of Jonesboro, LA. I knew many of the men (and women) who risked their lives to take a stand for racial equality. CORE's Jonesboro Freedom House (although it is vacant) still stands today, and its structure has not changed. This house, along with many of the pictures of individuals, are shown between pages 107 & 108 of the book. I shared this information with some of my students. They were quite surprised that our small town was a part of History!

Funny, Interesting, Informative!
Format: Paperback
I hiked the PCT in 2016 and I wish this had been available then. There are a lot of misconceptions about the desert section of the PCT (first 700ish miles) being flat, monotonous, and unpleasant. Even once you are out on the trail hiking through varied terrain, it is hard to shake off the "desert mentality" that comes from listening to those misconceptions. One of the reasons I love this book is because of how well the author paints an accurate picture of the beauty and constantly changing scenery the desert has to offer. All the information you would expect from a guide book is here, including mileage, water sources, elevation, etc. There are also a TON of photos that will make you question why you spend anytime indoors. I mean this literally. This book is worth buying for pictures of the Sierra sections alone. The damn near turn by turn navigation descriptions of each section are also a good reason for your purchase. The author is funny. I wanted to say that in a funny way but she's funny enough so if you want to chuckle, wait for the book. Her passion for the PCT seeps through her writing and it is impossible not to feel equally enthusiastic. On a multi-day (or multi-month) hike, that enthusiasm is almost as important as your next water source...except not..but ALMOST.

Anyone Can Do It!
Format: Paperback
My husband and I are hiking the PCT and this book has come in very helpful. We especially appreciate the areas we can park at the beginning and end of each section. It is making the trail very doable for two older people who could never make it otherwise. I tear out the section, make a copy and highlight some of the details for example a gate at 4.5 miles. It helps encourage us to continue when we know about how far we have left to go. Also the little map showing elevation gain and lost. The last 17 mile trip we did last week was predominantly up hill. Knowing that ahead of time prepares us mentally for a difficult hike. Our next section is 10 miles downhill so we will do that as a day hike and bring the dog. For anyone who thinks they can't do the PCT this is the perfect book. If I can do it Anyone Can Do It!

Best Section Books out there!
Format: Paperback
I plan to section hike the PCT in mostly small sections. Previous section books I'd found were called "PCT Section Hiking" but really were if you just wanted to get your feet on the PCT. THIS series of books is more than I could have hoped for and makes it so easy! I had previously spent hours and hours planning small sections, researching where to leave my car, which wilderness, what permits were needed, and on and on. This series (all different authors, but organized the same way, wonderful!) provides all the need to know info, plus very detailed commentary on each segment/leg. So grateful! So good!

Very easy to follow and everything you need to know as you plan your hike.
