Spider-Man first appeared in Marvel comic books in August 1962, in Amazing Fantasy #15 in the Silver Age of Comic Books. Created by Stan Lee, Peter Parker, a shy teenager that gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically modified spider which he uses to fight his enemies and injustice. Since the initial appearance, Marvel has featured the superhero in several comic book series, the longest being The Amazing Spider-Man, and a series of movies as well. Published in 2009, “Amazing Spider-Man Family #6” was written by Paul Tobin, Tom Defalco, Abigail Denson and Brian Reed.

The great late Stan Lee, American legendary comic book writer started in 1942 as an editorial assistant for Timely Comics. The Manhattan-born Lee wrote, art-directed and edited most of Marvel’s series, becoming one of the most important figures in the creation of the Marvel Universe.

Presented in a modern black frame, this piece is a Deluxe edition of four hand-signed by Stan Lee.

I really enjoyed this first volume of ultimate Spider-Man. As a (sort of) adult myself I love the new twist on the origin with Peter being a grown ass man with in his mid to late 30s with a career & young family when he gets the the powers this time instead of geeky teenager who is perpetually in his 20s in the 696 Marvel universe. Really enjoy the different take on Green Goblin as well and looking forward to seeing how everything plays out with the whole mission and greater conflict laid out in this book. The artwork is stellar and the writing is really sharp and crisp. Peter has never been more likable & charismatic and MJ & Gwen Stacey have never looked hotter. I could not recommend this book highly enough if you are a Spider-Man fan. As a matter of fact I enjoyed this book so much that I read it twice which I very rarely do.
