The Best Way to Rob a Bank Is to Own One: How Corporate Executives and Politicians Looted the S&L IndustryIn this expert insider's account of the savings and loan debacle of the 1980s, William Black lays bare the strategies that corrupt CEOs and CFOs in collusion with those who have regulatory oversight of their industries use to defraud companies for their personal gain. Recounting the investigations he conducted as Director of Litigation for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, Black fully reveals how Charles Keating and hundreds of other S&L owners took

In this expert insider's account of the savings and loan debacle of the 1980s, William Black lays bare the strategies that corrupt CEOs and CFOs--in collusion with those who have regulatory oversight of their industries--use to defraud companies for their personal gain. Recounting the investigations he conducted as Director of Litigation for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, Black fully reveals how Charles Keating and hundreds of other S&L owners took advantage of a weak regulatory environment to perpetrate accounting fraud on a massive scale. In the new afterword, he also authoritatively links the S&L crash to the business failures of 2008 and beyond, showing how CEOs then and now are using the same tactics to defeat regulatory restraints and commit the same types of destructive fraud.

Black uses the latest advances in criminology and economics to develop a theory of why "control fraud"--looting a company for personal profit--tends to occur in waves that make financial markets deeply inefficient. He also explains how to prevent such waves. Throughout the book, Black drives home the larger point that control fraud is a major, ongoing threat in business that requires active, independent regulators to contain it. His book is a wake-up call for everyone who believes that market forces alone will keep companies and their owners honest.

Perfect socket for the job
Size: 24mm, Color: Green, Size: 24mm, Color: Green
I purchased this 24mm socket specificaly to remove the oil filter housing on my Ram Promaster 2500 truck. Since there is limited space to get a standard socket in this area, this low profile socket was able to do the job without requiring me to loosen and push aside other components. I like that this socket is light weight, made of aluminum with large easy to read size eched into the body. the oil filter housing is made of plastic and does not require a beefy heavy steel socket. The walls on this socket are plenty thick as to cause me no concern about durability. To me, the green color is a nice touch as will be easy to spot in my socket set for the oil changes.

Perfect Tool for the Job – Compact, Durable, and Well-Made
Size: 32mm, Color: Green
I bought this 32mm oil filter socket specifically for my VW TDI, and it worked like a charm. The low-profile design is a lifesaver—there’s barely any clearance where the oil filter sits, and this tool fit in perfectly without me having to wrestle with it or remove other parts. The quality is excellent—it’s made from aerospace-grade aluminum, which means it’s both lightweight and solid. The anodized finish looks great and gives me confidence it won’t rust or degrade like some cheaper tools I’ve used in the past. The 6-point hex design grips the cap snugly and doesn’t round it off, even with decent torque applied using a standard 3/8" ratchet. I’ve already used it on a couple different vehicles (including a BMW and a Chevy) and it hasn’t slipped once. It’s a small tool, but it solves a big headache. For anyone doing their own oil changes—especially if you're dealing with tight engine bays—this socket is 100% worth it. Bonus points for the bright green color—it’s easy to find in the toolbox! Highly recommend.

Decent Quailty
Size: 28mm, Color: Red
Great for taking off the Cummins 6.7 fuel filter cap. 28MM nice color making it easy to spot should you drop it in the engine compartment. Appears to be made of a bit soft material. IMHO don't think it would take a lot of torque. But again it’s to remove a plastic fuel filter cover so you should not be applying a lot of force on it to begin with.

Saved my plastic oil filter cap. A must-have for Chrysler owners.
Size: 24mm, Color: Green
I struggled for a long time trying to remove the plastic oil filter cap on my Chrysler. I almost broke it a couple of times using the wrong tool. My friend told me to buy this socket. I was worried because it's aluminum. I thought it might not be strong enough. But it works great. What's good: The 24mm low profile fits perfectly on the plastic cap. The aluminum is strong — it grips the cap well without damaging it. 6-point design gives good grip, won't strip the plastic. I bought it once and use it every time now. How I use it: I only use this socket for removing the oil filter cap. Nothing else. I don't want to break it. Bottom line: If you have a plastic oil filter cap (especially on a Chrysler), buy this socket. It will save you from breaking an expensive part. One of those tools you don't need often, but when you need it, you're glad you have it.
