In 2012, Mark was diagnosed with a lime-sized brain tumor, putting his senses of vision and smell at serious risk. In an exhaustive effort, he organized a tour of his illustration exhibit, created this companion book, a music CD, and organized a fundraising effort, Limes for Life, to help defray overwhelming post-surgery expenses and to hopefully support others facing the same situation.
This was done just one month prior to a five-six hour surgery to remove the tumor in July 2012. The fundraising and exhibitions were a hit, and continue today.
