The fighting on the Kokoda track in World War II is second only to Gallipoli in the Australian national consciousness. According to the legend, Australian soldiers were vastly outnumbered by the Japanese, who suffered great losses as a result of Allied fighting and the harsh conditions of the Kokoda track. In this important book, Peter Williams seeks to dispel the Kokoda Myth. Using extensive research and Japanese sources, he explains what really happened on the Kokoda track in 1942. Unlike most other books written from an Australian perspective, this book focuses on the strategies, tactics and battle plans of the Japanese and shows that the Australians were in fact rarely outnumbered. For the first time, this book combines narrative with analysis to present an undistorted picture of the events of the campaign. It is a must-read for anyone who is interested in the truth of the Kokoda Campaign of 1942.

Funny and clever
Format: Hardcover
Sashimi, a fish boy, is trying to find someone just like him. Instead he finds unlikely friends. The book is very funny and clever with just the right sense of humor for kids 2-100. I won my copy from a Goodreads giveaway. I will be sharing my copy with my grandchildren who will fall in love with Sashimi, too.

Is it Groundhogs Day?
Format: Kindle
Trapped in Class is Book 1 in the Video Game Elementary by Scott Charles. This book was written for Middle School ages, but, being a Senior Adult, I LOVED It!! This book was pure fun, action and adventure. It must have been Groundhog day because Connor Lamb has been reliving his school day over and over. He, along with the school custodian, Glitch and friends, fight Fanged Slime, Vampire Mold and other monsters. I believe that this series will be a home run with students and the young at heart. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
