Six Questions Your Caribou Coffee Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this coffee shop franchise unit financial planning guide based on detailed market research into premium beverage operations. All key assumptions, including the $1.75 million initial revenue target and the $850,000 total CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) requirement, are pre-populated and fully adjustable to fit your specific Denver or urban market site.

What is the profitability trajectory?

The unit reaches operational break-even quickly in March 2026, but the EBITDA trajectory shows a dip from $321,000 in year one to $186,000 in year two as you scale from 12 to 14 full-time baristas. Speed to break-even is great, but long-term margin is the real battle.

Improve Unit Profitability

  • Optimize barista FTE count
  • Grow high-margin catering orders
  • Reduce coffee ingredient waste
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required?

You need $850,000 to launch this unit, covering the $30,000 franchise fee and significant physical infrastructure like $90,000 for outdoor fire pits. You are essentially building a $850,000 asset before the first bean is ground.

Major Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $400,000
  • Espresso Equipment: $120,000
  • Outdoor Fire Pits: $90,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

The coffee franchise ROI and profitability analysis shows an IRR of 0.99% and a return on equity of 0.33, with a payback period occurring after year five. This is a marathon, not a sprint, given the 5-year plus payback.

Key Investor Metrics

  • IRR: 0.99%
  • Payback: After Year 5
  • ROE: 0.33
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

The unit hits break-even in month 3, which is March 2026, provided you can cover the $20,000 monthly premium district rent. Fixed costs are a heavy lift at $20,000 a month for rent alone.

Levers for Faster Break-Even

  • Increase average ticket price
  • Boost morning peak throughput
  • Negotiate tiered rent start
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

The lowest cash point is $526,000 in August 2026, meaning you need a solid liquidity buffer to survive the initial ramp-up and equipment payments. Liquidity is your best friend when fire pits cost ninety grand.

Protect Unit Cash Flow

  • Phase furniture installations
  • Manage opening inventory tightly
  • Delay assistant manager hire
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios change outcomes?

A High scenario focused on catering can push revenue toward the $2.64 million year-five mark faster, while a Low scenario makes the $20,000 rent defintely harder to swallow. Execution in the high-income Cherry Creek area determines if you hit the High case.

Hit the High Case

  • Aggressive local marketing
  • High mobile app adoption
  • Premium catering partnerships

Great shoes
Size: 10 Toddler, Color: Tan River Gem
Fantastic sandals! Easy for him to put on and don’t rub his feet even when wet. He loves to wear them anywhere, not just the water and they look great with any outfit. They seem to hold up well and have good traction. I wish they made these in bigger sizes! Definitely worth the money.

Good item

I got these Robeez toddler sport sandals for my little one and honestly, they’ve been pretty great overall. The first thing I noticed is how lightweight they are—they don’t seem bulky or heavy at all, which is perfect because my toddler is constantly on the move. They run around, climb, and play hard, and these sandals have held up really well so far. They feel durable enough to handle everyday wear without looking worn out after just a few uses. Another big plus for me is how easy they are to put on and take off. If you have a toddler, you already know how much of a struggle shoes can be sometimes, so anything that saves time is a win. These slip on pretty easily, which makes getting out the door a lot less stressful. That said, the sizing was a little off for us. I ordered my child’s usual size, but they do seem to run a bit big. There’s more room than I expected, so they’re not as snug of a fit right now. It’s not a huge issue since they can still wear them, but I probably could have sized down for a better fit. Overall, I still really like these sandals. They’re comfortable, practical, and hold up well for everyday use. Just keep the sizing in mind when ordering!

Great sandals
Size: 8 Toddler, Color: Blue River Gem, Size: 8 Toddler, Color: Blue River Gem
I got these shoes for my 3-year-old. They are a good summer shoe that look good for everyday wear. I like that both straps are adjustable to help them to be more form-fitting to the foot. I like that the back ankle strap is *not* adjustable, because I don't feel the need for that one to be adjustable and also it's just kind of annoying because it's an extra thing that can potentially become undone. The whole shoe is foam including the uppers. One concern I have is that the sole is more slick than rubbery, so I'm concerned about these being slippery, especially with all of the summer activities that involve water. The footbed of the shoe has a bit of texture and seems comfortable. I appreciate that the sole bends easily to make them healthy for little feet that need to flex. These seem easy to clean, you could probably wash them in the washing machine, though I didn't see that anywhere so I don't know for sure. Overall, I find these to be high quality sandals and they are flexible for outdoor/wet situations as well as indoors.

Cute Shoes but Run Very Big
Size: 5 Toddler, Color: Lavender River Gem
Shoes are cute and seem like they would work well but sizing is off. I ordered size 12-18months which meant they ended up sending a size 5. My daughter currently wears size 3 or 3.5 so these were way too big. Ended up returning.
