Die progressive Netzhautatrophie (PRA) bei Hunden ist eine Gruppe von genetisch heterogenen erblichen Netzhauterkrankungen, die durch progressive Degeneration und Zelltod der Photorezeptoren gekennzeichnet sind. Die progressive Netzhautatrophie 1 bei Papillons und Phalenes ist eine autosomal-rezessive PRA. Betroffene Hunde haben einen primären Verlust der Stäbchenphotorezeptorzellen, gefolgt von einem Verlust der Funktion der Zapfenzellen. Die ersten klinischen Anzeichen zeigen sich als Schwierigkeiten bei schwachem Licht. Die Krankheit schreitet sehr langsam voran und die betroffenen Hunde scheinen ihr ganzes Leben lang visuell normal zu sein, da die Funktion der Zapfen relativ gut erhalten bleibt.

Vererbung: autosomal-rezessiv

Mutation: CNGB1-Gen

Gentest: Die verwendete Methode zum Testen ist äußerst genau und ermöglicht eine vollständige Differenzierung zwischen betroffenen Tieren, Trägern und gesunden Hunden. Der Test kann in jedem Alter durchgeführt werden.

Multiple poles were bent, none of the pole connectors worked, the hex wrench broke in my hand, the screws didn't really go into the holes provided (I had to get a friend with a press drill to widen the holes to make it work), there are sharp edges on the poles where there is a seam, and doesn't look that great once assembled. Easy do not buy, the only reason I didn't return is because it would have been tough to disassemble the half I got through in the first 5 hours of building (mostly spent fixing the product delivered)
