Marie-Jo Lafontaine beschwört in ihren suggestiven Bildern die physischen und psychischen Bedingungen menschlicher Existenz, archetypische Instinkte und mythische Urmotive. Ihre primären Ausdrucksmittel sind Videofilme und Fotografien: Ihre Filme spielt sie vorwiegend synchron auf mehreren Monitoren ab, die sie wiederum in einen - oft monumentalen, zum Teil begehbaren - architektonischen Aufbau integriert; ihre geradezu unnahbar perfekten Fotografien tendieren durch ihre außergewöhnliche Form der Präsentation zum Klassischen, zum Weihevollen und Erhabenen. In einem weiteren Schritt setzt sie diese Arbeiten und auch andere Objekte multimedial ein, um Gesamtkunstwerke zu inszenieren, die raumfüllend auf alle Sinne einwirken. Die Publikation stellt - neben der schon bekannten Videoskulptur »Jeder Engel ist schrecklich« - fünf neue Werkeinheiten der belgischen Künstlerin vor, in denen sie die übergreifenden Themen Jugend, Jugendkultur, Identität, Stadt und den Erlebnisraum von großen Metropolen behandelt. Zur Künstlerin: Marie-Jo Lafontaine *1950 in Antwerpen. 1975-1979 Studium an der Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et des Arts Visuels »La Cambre«, Brüssel. 1987 Teilnehmerin der documenta 8 in Kassel mit der aufsehenerregenden Videoskulptur »Les larmes d'acier«. Zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen. 1998/99 Kulturbotschafterin von Flandern. Lebt und arbeitet in Brüssel. Genuine leather upper and well made
Size: 10, Color: Sunlight
These shoes are well made and I love the way they look. They look great with jeans or dresses. I usually wear a 9 1/2 or 10 depending on the brand. These are a size 10 and fit. Hopefully after a breaking in period the opening at the toes will loosen up. Also, when walking they make a slap slap sound. Again, hoping after they break in that won't be the case. I got a great deal and poof a couple of days later there was a slightly better deal.
I wasn't sure I'd like the color but it's actually really nice. The upper is genuine leather and they are well made.

Beautiful shoe

This shoe is fairly narrow, which works fine for my narrow feet. Comfortable. Light. Nice color will match with lots of colors. Fairly comfortable but the skinny part by the toe I see how this would give anyone with a medium side foot blisters. It’s fine on me.

This shoe is super cute and comfy. I usually wear an 8 or an 8½. I ordered the 8½, but it was too small, so I had to send it back. I reordered a 9, and it fit perfectly.
